I got my first Australian Shepherd in 1989 and was hooked! Since my children were still young I was unable to pursue all the activities I would have liked with her. I always said "When the kids are older I'll be able to do these things". That's how the name Empty Nest came to be . My dogs live in the house and are our  companions first and foremost. I got involved in agility, herding,  and conformation when I got my first show quality dog in 2000. We learned together and had so much fun while getting titles. I was very fortunate to have great mentors, Betsy Atkinson, Hearthside, and Heather Gould, Watermark,  I also consider them wonderful friends. I relocated from Upstate New York to north west of Houston, Texas in 2004.
